Dear Georgetown Families,
Thank you once again for an incredible 2020-21 school year! When I look back I am still amazed that we made it through the entire year with students on campus and in the classrooms. Working together we achieved success!!
As we prepare for the 2021-22 school year I wanted to let you know, that at the time of this writing, the Georgetown Exempted Village Schools will make masks optional for students and staff while in the buildings or outside (unfortunately due to current federal orders, students and staff are required to wear masks on school busses, whether vaccinated or not, until 9/13/21, at which time the order may end or possibly extended). We will continue to monitor the health of students and staff each and every day and we ask parents to monitor their students at home and keep them home from school if they are displaying any signs or symptoms of COVID 19.
We will also, in conjunction with the Brown County Board of Health and our school nurse, monitor COVID 19 cases in Brown County and within our school. Please be aware, restrictions that were in place last year could return if warranted or mandated by appropriate officials. As we witnessed last year, changes to policies and procedures changed often and changed quickly and the school district had very little control or choice in those changes. If for some reason we are required to make adjustments to our back to school plans, I will communicate those changes through social media, emails and text messages.
Our sincere hope is that we will have an awesome school year and all of our families and staff will remain happy and healthy!
Sincerely,
Brad Winterod - Superintendent of Schools
