It’s that time of year again...Back to School! As summer is coming to a close, GEVS would like to make sure that the parents, students, and community members are provided with all the necessary information needed to have a great start to the new school year. On August 24th, GEVS teachers and support staff will be welcoming back new and returning students. Below is important information to keep in mind, as you and your family gear up for the new school year. How do I find my student’s school supply & class list?
Elementary supply lists and Jr.-Sr. High school supply lists can be found on the district’s website under the NEWS and STUDENT/PARENT tabs. Once you complete the Final Forms for your child, the school will contact you with your student’s teacher/class. The Final Forms link can be found on the district’s website, under the STUDENT/PARENT tab. Jr. High and High School students will receive supply lists and schedules from their teachers on the first day of school.
How do I find my school’s calendar?
The GEVS District Calendar is located on our website, www.gtown.k12.oh.us, under the QUICK LINKS tab, located in the dropdown menu. You may also contact the school’s office(s) if you have questions regarding events pertaining to each specific building.
Does my student receive bus service and/or How do I communicate my child’s transportation arrangements?
GEVS will provide transportation for all students residing in our school district at predetermined bus stops. Our drivers like to make a personal connection with as many families as possible and will have a table set up during our open house on August 17th at the elementary school. They will collect all the necessary information and be available to answer any questions you have at this time. They will use the time prior to the first day of school to make adjustments to the routes. After August 24th please contact Taylor Garrett at 937-378-6730 ext.1502. To ensure morning transportation, contact needs to be made prior to 2pm the day before requested service.
Elementary students will receive transportation forms on the first day of school, to be completed and returned. Jr. High and High School students who have questions regarding transportation, should contact the GHS office at 937-378-6730.
Cafeteria: Breakfast and Lunch
Please see the 2020-2021 Food Services Guide regarding any/all questions pertaining to breakfast and lunch. GEVS does provide free breakfast to all students! You may also check the breakfast and lunch calendars for each month by visiting our website at www.gtown.k12.oh.us. These calendars will be located under STUDENT/PARENT>CAFETERIA.
I’m new to Georgetown. How do I enroll my child?
Please visit our GUIDANCE OFFICE page for everything you need to enroll (Student Enrollment Form) your child at Georgetown, including contacts and required documents. Testing dates, graduation requirements, college planning and financial aid information are also located on this page. The GUIDANCE OFFICE page can be found on our website www.gtown.k12.oh.us, in the Menu dropdown, underneath STUDENT/PARENT.
What is Progress Book and how do I access it?
Progress Book is a communications tool to help keep students and parents up-to-date and in contact with their teachers throughout the year. You may use Progress Book to find daily assignments and scores, schedules, attendance and more. PB can be located on our website www.gtown.k12.oh.us, under Menu/STUDENT PARENT. Students and parents will also receive emails, calls, notes, and/or texts from teachers and staff throughout the year, as necessary.
